R3-DRUM

First Murder servitor came out this way. I think it has got a lovingly twisted look to it. I see these as the leftovers from failed experiments in Departemento Biologis, which are as a last service turned into something nasty to release on the enemy.

Murder Servitors

For quite some time I've wanting to make some murder servitors - twisted bio-engineered constructs, which are pretty much a point and release killing machine - lovely. The basis will be the ghoul model from WHFB - doesn't get more twisted basic structure than that. So here is a few pics of the beginning.
Also per request I present an army so far pic - also know as a Bob-shot.

A trip to the paintshop

Almost done now, actually just need the few last touches on the bases, and finishing off the extra weapons. Much as I had hoped the added detail work, battledamage and color on the bases, really helped these minis a lot. Now I think the problem was the really large red flat surfaces the minis had from shoulder to shoulder, and breaking these areas up did the trick.
I also moderated the dangerous end of the asssaultcannon slightly, since the premade barrels simply were so thin, that they were impossible to drill out.

Shaping up

Added some of the first details today, and I all ready like the overall look better - great! It's not much yet, but I think I can see where it will end now.

Painting Progress

Actually followed through with my intent to do some more painting. And hence my two defender robots are all but done. I still need to work in some OSL on the conversion beamer and add some décor to the bodies or leg guards and some battledamage, to make them fit in with the rest of the army, and finish off the bases of cause. Actually I'm not really jumping with joy, on how they are turning out - but I hope that will  change once they get the last detailwork.

Does red still go fasta?

Having finished The Omniscion, I decided to jump right in and do some more painting. I wanted to finish my Defender robots, since I hate to leave a paintjob unfinished.

The Omniscion

Finally Finished!

Actually a few days ago, but taking adequate photos was not easy, but I think these does the trick. Very pleased with the way he turned out, in all modesty I think it's one of my best conversions to date. Paintjob's pretty satisfying as well. The conversion uses parts from several GW kits - C'tan, Cronos Pain Engine, Killer Kans, DA veterans, IG command, various servoskulls, Anvil Industry, Zinge Industries, Forge world, Micro Art Studio and a base I do not know who made. I've uploaded the picture to Cool Mini or Not Picture on CMoN if you should care to vote.

Well on to the next project.............................

Sarissa Precision

Some time ago I discovered, to me at least, a new company making the new black - I mean laser-cut MDF terrain. I instantly fell in love with the design of their different terrain pieces, and since I all ready were in terrain mode, I decided I needed to see the stuff live. Luckily, they have in their range some cool looking sky walkway - just what I needed to get even more 3D on the battlefield. So I ordered a few of those plus a landingpad - a friend ordered a few other items so those can soon be seen as well. Haven't gotten around to build any of them yet, though I did unpack a couple, and I've not been disappointed so far. Very easy to push out the not wanted/cut out parts, slim but stable and easy to figure out how to stick together. They also come with a base for stability, and they were much larger than I anticipated. So all in all - score! Really looking forward to getting the time to try and assemble a few.
In the mean time go have a look at their site: CLICK!
I should perhaps also add, that they have several different lines, from the Dark Ages through The Wild West, WWII all the way to Sci-Fi. The Sci-Fi line is called System ∞ 28mm. They have free shipping for orders over 50£ and they shipped my stuff within two days - had it in Denmark in four days, excellent.
The below picture is not my terrain, but nicked from web, just to give you guys a teaser.

Need an oil change Sir?

I've been decorating The Omniscion with the servoskulls - and it added just the right amount of extra tech I felt was needed. I think I'm about there where I only need the last few touch-ups on the base, then I'm actually done.
A small teaser:

Skulls

One of the most iconic images and my absolute favourite critters of the 40K universe are servoskulls. For as long as I can remember I've always found them incredible cool, with just a hint of DarkTech and spookiness.
Finally I found a good reason to paint up some.

Basing

Gotten so far I've done the base now - a bit of rubble will be added once the mini is in place.

Detailing begins

Started adding detail to the mini last night. As always, should be past that stage, but I'm always taken by surprise how much life a pair of eyes and a few other colors to facial features add to a mini. Looking forward to getting the last add-ons...well....added on......
