On the right track

I think I got Sweet Death on the right track again yesterday. I added a lens to the skull, finished the hair, redid some of the red areas and finished some of the detail work. I think that helped quite a bit for the overall look.
Also tested a new way of painting lenses which worked pretty well I think.

A new head ?

Really right on the brink of replacing the head - pretty sure the skull was a good idea - one that didn't work out though :D Might try to add some optics or other gubbins to make it look more interesting. The bronze armour could will also be toned down later on today - toned down and flooded in verdigris!

Painting Sweet Deadth

The painting has commenced on Sweet Death - not quite sure how I feel about the result so far. Perhaps the skull was better working when it was all greys :D But I kind of feel the the mini is lacking a focal point - perhaps it will work all right once finished, which shouldn't take too long. On the other hand, I'm pretty happy with my blacks here, using VMC german grey, with a few lighter grey highlights and nuln oil washes - like on the black glove on her right hand, so I might finally have found me recipe on that.

Family Photo

Always good fun with these, good to see the progress - starting to get really crowded eh?

The Shrine of Apocryphal Teachings Finished

Yay, got the last drop of paint on the Hunchback and the Shrine of Apocryphal Teachings. Really worked out pretty well I think, actually a bit better than I thought it would. The only thing I couldn't make work was some more support than cables, and I can live with that.

Fully hunched

The mount is all but finished - think I might brighten his lenses a bit more - make them more highpowered orange.

The mount

Actually it started with the mount - had the idea of a hunchback henchman with some books and stuff on the back, and the "backpack" sort of took off on it's own - cool enough. Well back to the mount then. Using a skaven body I could get the hunchbacked position, but I also wanted a tormented head, so a hood came into mind. I started by making a armature of wire and plastic rod which I shaped slightly in the top. I glued in a couple of cables from Dragon Forge design, then added a blob of greystuff and smeared it down the sides of the "head". I added a couple of lences from a marine scout's night goggles and made split in the hood down the middle. The final touch was a couple of stitches in the back and a cable for a rebreather. The rebreather was dumped again though as I did not want to make the model to busy in the front.

The Shrine of Apocryphal Teachings

The shrine is almost finished, just need a bit of cables and what not - then I need to make some sort of mount for it.....

HI-TECH loo or a shrine?

Next oddity is coming right up - take one of The Shrine of Apocryphal Teachings. Correction will be made as I cannot see the scroll as anything else than toilet tissue - not good......

Sound advice

After some very sound advice, I decided to turn the mask a bit - making it face more outwards, so now people can actually see what it's supposed to be - thanks to Gitsplitta from Dakka.

A bit of hair then

Thanks for all you suggestions on various platforms. I had quite a few suggestions on doing a powder/judges wig, which is an extremely cool idea, I was going to have a go at. In the end I decided against it though as it would not really fit the theme of the mini - a seductress albeit a very deadly one. So I went with something more feminine but still badass - took a couple of tries but now I'm fairly happy with it.
I could also read of a few comments that someone though her to be undead - that she is not, the skull will be metal.

Do you like it with or without hair?

Finishing touched have been added, bit of re-positioning of parchments and some base work. I also tried my hand on adding some hair.....as I've said earlier sculpting will not be a force of mine anytime soon. But the hair can be reworked and redone over and over until I'm satisfied - but does the mini look better with hair or without? Help me out here please - atm I'm on the no-hair option.
