With only a few minor adjustments, well only one really - an arm from Anvil Industry, the Alpha is now ready to lead the fight against enemies of the Deus ex Machina. Love the big sixshooter - is it the Samaritan?? and I think his stance is quite good too. Great minis these are for sure - good on you GW.

Cool new Robots in Anvil Industry's Kickstarter

The last few days of Anvil Industy's kickstarter AFTERLIFE - The Shards of Liberty has begun counting down. Loads of interesting miniatures really. My absolute favourites has to be the War Drones and the Mauler drill - what lovely little machines, I'm pretty sure they will show up in my army at some point. Cool stuff - so why don't you take a look and help make it happen.

Heads are from Ramshackle Games and torsos are from Blight Wheel miniatures, legs from Anvil Industry. Bases are from Dark Art Studios ( I think). Extra bits on backpacks - Zinge Industries.
Buzz saw servitor: Buzz saw from Puppetswar, other arm - GW catachan. GS power cord.
Gun Servitor: Arm and gun are from Titan Forge, their Metal Beard Kickstarter. Flesh arm from Anvil Industry. 1 and 2 mm plastic rod.

Sagittarii mock-up

First mock-up of my planned Sagittarii, and actually first post with some real work this year, not impressed by that - feeling the mojo returning though.
As soon as I saw these new tracked units, by Anvil Industry, I knew they were just right for this unit. The plan is that this is the general look, different arms, or perhaps appendages is a more correct term, will be added for variety. The torso and powerplant are also AI, the gun is GW grey knight something, and the head is from Steam and Aether.

Anvil Industry's Gun Tractor

Having recently taken part in Anvil Industry's kickstarter for Afterlife, I received my miniatures the other day. The one bit I was looking forward to with most anticipation was the gun tractor. And as always when it's stuff from AI I was not disappointed. Very cool looking, ripe with detail, free of bubbles and mistakes, very little flash and moldlines - great job as always Joel. It comes with several very usable weapons, which you can turn 360, no need for glue to stick the weapons there, which mean you can switch them around as much as you like.

I also thought I'd put it next to another new tracked unit, previously reviewed here - this one is much smaller though. And luckily so, as the big one is an artillery piece and this one is more your average trooper carrying a big gun. Of cause I have no intention of using it as described, and I just received another batch of bits from AI to make it just perfect, hopefully I'll get some time during the next few days to play around.

Anvil Industry Afterlife Kickstarter

One of the best bits suppliers out there, and possibly my overall favourite, Anvil Industry - has finally been letting loose on the promised gamesystem AFTERLIFE - yay! New bioconstructs

Having had a lot of good feedback on the Herakli head, and while I'm taking it all in a trying to decide which way to go I started working on some servitors.Cheap, plenty and with quite a few weapon options, I think they can actually be quite an asset if lead by a techpriest, to help them pass those annoying mindlock tests. The first two are uplinked and ready to serve.
The heads on these two are from Anvil Industry, and the extremely cool tracks are from Plastik Krak - links to both can be found in the righthand sidebar.

R3-DRUM parts breakdown

On various fora I've been asked about the parts used for the Murder servitors, so I thinks it's time for a full listing. Links to most suppliers can be found in the right sidebar.

All of them have; GW Ghoul body and legs, Anvilindustry leg guards/armour, head from puppetswar, and various bits of plasticprofiles - the spine-plugs are simply 1mm rod drilled into the back. Cables are either thin guitar-wire, or home-made using Procreate and a tubetool.

Actually a few days ago, but taking adequate photos was not easy, but I think these does the trick. Very pleased with the way he turned out, in all modesty I think it's one of my best conversions to date. Paintjob's pretty satisfying as well. The conversion uses parts from several GW kits - C'tan, Cronos Pain Engine, Killer Kans, DA veterans, IG command, various servoskulls, Anvil Industry, Zinge Industries, Forge world, Micro Art Studio and a base I do not know who made. I've uploaded the picture to Cool Mini or Not Picture on CMoN if you should care to vote.

Well on to the next project.............................

Velites II

Finished the last couple of Velites making up a full squad, with Thunderhammer armed Optio and melta weapon. Last one need a gun that's in the mail somewhere.

Got another concept together I've been thinking about for some time, my Myrmidiae Velites. I think they turned out quite nicely, and I hope to get the last few ones done today as well. Parts are again mostly Anvil Industry's with a couple of bits from puppetswar as well.

New Hypaspist

Along time ago I made my first attempts on making a good looking hypaspist. Never was really happy, several things bugged me - first of all it was pretty much a rip off of something I'd seen on the web, I felt they were a bit puny looking, not badass enough and were looking a bit too much like the priesthood.

Well I've finally managed to come up with something new and much better looking. This will be the basic design though heads are subject to change, some with hoods and some barefaced with respirator pieces . I really feel these are looking much more the part than my first try.
Gun, the large shoulder armour, the mechanical arm and the backpack are from Anvil Industry, the head is from Puppetswar. Really looking forward to building the rest of this squad.

When I first stumbled on Anvil industry, I instantly became impressed with the range already there, and then it has just been expanding ever since. The range includes among other things, lots of heads, torsos, arms and legs. But the thing I like the most is the wide range of weapons, especially the guns. You can choose from several basic guns and then kit them out with all sorts of add ons - other mags, scopes, chainsaws and so on and so on.

The main component line is marine sized, but a lot of the bits go very well with human/guard sized minis as well, and several components are made for human/guard size (like some really cool bionic arms).

Quality:

I've already ordered from them several times, and I must say I'm really impressed with the casting as well, I have yet to find flaws in the casting, edges are sharp and flash and mould lines are at an absolute minimum.

The guy who runs it, is as far as I'm concerned a straight up guy. Mails are answered quickly, and orders are shipped almost before you confirm your paypal payment. My last order was placed Wednesday afternoon and arrived in DK on Monday - and that was even during SALUTE weekend.

So if you need a few new conversions bits, or even need a whole new army of different looking marines Anvil Industry has my best recommendations.
